February 28, 2025On Wednesday, I cohosted an event called Let's Discuss Youth Justice in Norwalk and Across the State. The purpose of this event was to bring local youth services organizations together to brainstorm the different ways we can help younger individuals in our community. Thank you to the Connecticut Justice Alliance for collaborating with me to make this important event happen, and to everyone who was able to attend.

February 6, 2025I am proud to announce that I am now serving as the Chair of the first-ever End Homelessness Caucus. Representative Laurie Sweet of Hamden, the other founding member, will serve as the Vice Chair.
Increasing Medicaid Reimbursement Rates
January 31, 2025We understand what's going on nationally, but we can't stop doing our jobs for the people of Connecticut and that starts with putting forward good public policy. House and Senate Democratic leaders announced on Tuesday a legislative proposal to increase Medicaid reimbursement rates for providers, which is long overdue. A recent state Medicaid Rate Study found that Connecticut lags well behind peer states when paying providers under Connecticut’s Medicaid program. Many areas of care are currently reimbursed at the same levels they were in 2007.
January 23 is Maternal Health Awareness Day
January 24, 2025Like many of you, I am outraged and disappointed by the executive orders signed over the past few days. Several of the orders will have an enormous impact on Black and Brown communities. Please see my comments below. I promise to continue to fight on the behalf of our community at the Capitol.
MLK Day Event in Norwalk
January 16, 2025Monday is Martin Luther King Jr. Day. On the third Monday of January, we take a moment to celebrate the legacy of a consequential figure in American history. Dr. King worked alongside other civil rights leaders, and they were able to successfully push the federal government to pass legislation that addressed the horrible sins of our past.
