Opening Day of the 2025 Legislative Session
January 10, 2025On Wednesday, I was sworn in at the State Capitol on the first day of the 2025 legislative session in Hartford. I am honored to serve the people of Norwalk once again, and look forward to working with my colleagues over the next 5 months to craft meaningful legislation that will benefit everyone.

Thousands of CT Residents Set for Medical Debt Relief
December 20, 2024More than 22,000 residents of Connecticut can expect some or all their medical debt to be eliminated, thanks to a major state initiative in partnership with the national nonprofit organization Undue Medical Debt.
Student Loan Reimbursement Program Rolls Out in January
December 13, 2024Starting January 1, Connecticut college students will be able to benefit from a bill we passed to alleviate student loan debt. The reimbursement program, led by House Democrats and the first of its kind in the nation, provides up to $5,000/year for up to four years (up to $20,000) in loan forgiveness. Six million dollars has been allocated in the current budget cycle and will be awarded on a first-come, first-served basis.
Strengthening Pension Funds and Addressing Legacy Debt

Funding for CT Rail Projects
November 25, 2024Connecticut is ready to improve its railways after receiving approximately $291 million from the federal government. The money comes from President Biden’s Bipartisan Infrastructure Law. Additionally, the Connecticut Department of Transportation will provide $120 million, and Amtrak will contribute $11.7 million to a number of rail projects across the state.
November is Heating Assistance Month
November 15, 2024Colder temperatures will soon give way to higher heating bills. November is Heating Assistance Awareness Month in Connecticut, and we are informing residents about several programs available that can help pay or lower their heating bills this winter.
