I want to take a moment to remind you about Filling in the Blanks Day, update you on the recent developments that took place during our Special Session, and recap my experience as a National Conference of State Legislatures (NCSL) Youth Homelessness Fellow.

I want to inform you about a new prescription drug discount card program that provides up to 80% off certain prescriptions and also remind you about Filling in the Blanks Day on Saturday, September 30th!

I am happy to share that the Paraeducator Healthcare Subsidy Program will provide $5 million in financial assistance and increase access to quality health care.

I want to invite you and your family to join me for Filling in the Blanks Day on Saturday, September 30th from 12:00 PM - 5:00 PM. Additionally, don't forget about the Norwalk Oyster Festival taking place all weekend!

The application period for the 2023-2024 winter season of the Connecticut Energy Assistance Program (CEAP) is open.

The Connecticut Department of Social Services (DSS), in consultation with the Connecticut State Department of Education (CSDE), this week announced that $8.8 million in special food assistance benefits is scheduled to be distributed Sunday, August 13, 2023, to the families of 57,313 children under age 6 who are enrolled in the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP).
