Dear Neighbor,

I am proud to announce that I am now serving as the Chair of the first-ever End Homelessness Caucus. Representative Laurie Sweet of Hamden, the other founding member, will serve as the Vice Chair.

Our goal is to explore policies that will tackle the complex factors contributing to homelessness and work towards its hopeful eradication. The End Homelessness Caucus will work collaboratively with service providers  and advocate for policies necessary to secure housing and life-changing services for those who are currently unhoused.

The creation of a caucus that deals with this issue is long overdue. Connecticut is one of the richest states in the nation, but that does not mean it is immune from homelessness. I am thrilled to be surrounded by dedicated colleagues, who all want to use their expertise and influence to help end homelessness in our state.

I am partnering with the Connecticut Justice Alliance for an event called Let's Discuss Youth Justice in Norwalk and Across the State. I will lead a discussion about ensuring that all our children’s needs are being met across Connecticut.

Registration is not required, but you can RSVP by clicking this link.

I was honored to attend a ribbon cutting last week for the third school-based health center in Norwalk. The Family Health and Wellness Center, which was created in partnership with the Norwalk Community Health Center and Norwalk Public Schools, will offer medical and mental health services to our students as well as their families.

Thank you to everyone who worked to make this day possible!

Call us radical, but we believe every child deserves a full stomach and a fair shot at success.

For children in poverty, school meals may be the only nutritious food they eat each day. I am proud to fight for equal access to nutrition, a more inclusive and dignified environment for kids, and for easing financial strain on Connecticut families so they can allocate resources to other needs like housing, healthcare, or education.

From the Constitution State ➡️ world stage, Connecticut has cultivated an incredible amount of talent in women's sports. Today, we celebrate their achievements and the future generations they inspire. You make CT proud!
