School Drive Event TONIGHT

Collection Events in Norwalk
August 15, 2025The City of Norwalk will hold a mattress and box spring recycling collection on Saturday, September 27 from 9:00-12:00 PM at 15 South Smith Street in Norwalk. This free collection program recycles mattresses and box springs through the City’s partnership with the Mattress Recycling Council’s Connecticut Bye Bye Mattress Program.

SB 1542 Signed into Law
July 18, 2025On Thursday, Governor Lamont hosted a ceremonial bill signing for SB 1542 at the Carver Center in Norwalk. SB 1542 raises the age for the arrest of a child under certain circumstances, from ten to twelve years in 2026, and from twelve to fourteen years in 2028. It also restricts the use of handcuffs on children under fourteen years of age. Connecticut is the first state in the country to pass this type of legislation.
Walk for Elijah Tomorrow
July 11, 2025EJ's Heart, a Norwalk based nonprofit , will hold a walk tomorrow morning at Brien McMahon High School. EJ's Heart was founded in memory of Elijah "EJ" Gillmore, who passed away suddenly at the age of 4 in 2016. In his memory, the organization provides scholarships and opportunities for local students to pursue their passions.
