Connecticut is a leader when it comes to sensible gun safety laws. We continued our leadership on the issue by passing Ethan’s Law, legislation regulating ghost guns and legislation increasing safe storage of fire arms.

Today, on the steps of Norwalk City Hall, I joined with Senate Majority Leader Bob Duff, State Representative Chris Perone (D-Norwalk), State Representative Travis Simms (D-Norwalk), and Norwalk Federation of Teachers President Mary Yordon to highlight the full state funding for local Norwalk education in the Democratic state budget passed last week in the Appropriations Committee.

It’s #PolishDay at the Capitol! As a short term resident of Poland, I consider myself an honoree Pol. I loved my time there and loved meeting many Polish-Americans citizens in my district.

The House took action approving a resolution that would include a ballot question to amend the State Constitution to allow for an in-person early voting system. Once the resolution gets final legislative approval, the question will appear on the November 2020 ballot for voters to decide if Connecticut should implement it.

Today is Gun Violence Prevention Awareness Day and I commend all the advocates who are working towards making our communities safer.

Proud to join in a Celebration of Champions event at Norwalk High School – congratulations to all the fantastic talented student athletes who work hard every day and make us all proud!

I am pleased to have joined with my colleagues, our Lt. Governor Susan Bysiewicz, and other officials, partners, advocates and community organizations to launch our local 2020 Census outreach efforts. It is imperative that we educate our residents about the significance of their full participation in the 2020 Census. This effort starts with creating awareness and educating our constituents on the consequences we would face should we fail to provide a complete count of our local population.

Connecticut residents have expressed their frustration at rising prescription drug costs and their difficulty affording their medication. I understand this is a sensitive and critical issue for many who must take daily doses of prescribed treatment in order to improve their health. This is why I support HB 7174, An Act Concerning Prescription Drugs.
