Now that my legislative colleagues and I have Governor Lamont’s budget proposal in hand, officials from state departments and agencies have begun giving their budget presentations in public hearings before the Appropriations Committee of which I am a member.

Pleased to have joined my colleagues, Rep. Sean Scanlon and Sen. Matt Lesser, co-chairs of the Insurance and Real Estate Committee, as well as State Comptroller Kevin Lembo and advocates to announce new legislation to address the high cost of prescription drugs.

The Student Manufacturer Connection Fair will take place on April 24th from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. at the state Capitol.

Capitol Information and Tours, operated by the League of Women Voters of Connecticut Education Fund, Inc., is now accepting applications for one paid summer intern tour guide position.

I enjoyed my conversation with Grace Duffield, a reporter with the New Canaan Advertiser, about how my personal experiences influenced my priorities and an overview of the 2019 Legislative Session.

For over a month, many federal employees have been reporting to work and performing their duties - without pay. The government shutdown affects at least 1,500 Connecticut workers and they are struggling to pay their bills while they wait for their paychecks to resume.

I am grateful to Senator Duff, Person2Person, our partners, volunteers and everyone who has joined me to coordinate an emergency food drive to help boost Person-to-Person’s food supply to help alleviate local federal workers and their families affected by the ongoing government shutdown.
