Several new laws that address many issues aimed at improving our great state will become effective on July 1.

I had a wonderful time at the local Juneteenth celebrations in Norwalk and New Canaan. It was such a meaningful day to recognize and learn more about our nation's path to emancipation. There is still much more to do for true racial equality for all our our residents. I am glad we are working together to accomplish it.

It is also a technology-driven crime committed, at times, by organized rings in which the criminals steal Electronic Benefit Transfer (EBT) card information by installing electronic devices on ATMs or store point-of-sale (POS) terminals to capture card information, which is commonly referred to as skimming.
