A couple of weeks ago, I had the honor of attending and speaking at the inaugural Tech Block Party in Hartford. This free event aimed to bring budding tech entrepreneurs together to network and learn more about the industry.

Last week, Hartford Healthcare launched the Center for Racial Trauma and Community Healing. I was proud to join all of those who worked to make this center a reality. This research center aims to gain a deeper understanding of the psychological and behavioral consequences of discrimination and trauma in order to advance equity and healing through the power of community. I am partnering with the Alliance for Bloomfield's Children to hold my 7th annual diaper drive. Diapers, wipes, and other donations will be accepted. Donations can be dropped off in box located in front of LOB Room 4100 by Friday, May 3rd.

During my time as a legislator, supporting veterans has been a priority of mine. My father is a veteran, and because of that, I have a respect and understanding of the sacrifice members of our armed services make to protect this country.

Earlier this month, I joined Congressman John Larson, State Reps Garibay, Reyes and Napoli for a celebration of Leticia Colon de Mejias and her Windsor based organization Efficiency For All. EFA is a Connecticut nonprofit that was founded in 2017 by a concerned group of minority energy workers and community Environmental Justice advocates, who sought to address the lack of minority representation in the clean energy industry.
