Prohibiting Fracking Waste In Connecticut

May 9, 2017

I spoke in favor of House Bill 6329, An Act concerning a hydraulic fracturing waste ban in Connecticut. No fracking waste currently moves into or is stored in the state because of a moratorium I helped institute a few years ago when we feared New York State might join Pennsylvania in allowing fracking. The moratorium is due to expire shortly and it seems time to institute a full ban -- particularly when so many Connecticut municipalities are in the process of banning fracking waste themselves.
