Early Voting Legislation
May 6, 2021Today, the House passed by overwhelming margins a resolution seeking to amend State Constitutional limits on in-person early voting.. Connecticut is currently one of only six states that do not allow for some form of early voting.
Food Distribution Event in Westport this Tuesday, May 4
April 30, 2021Next Tuesday, May 4, the Westport Department of Human Services will be distributing a limited number of USDA Food Boxes at the Westport Center for Senior Activities (WCSA). The contents of the food box is a mix of shelf-stable and perishable food items including fruits, vegetables, dairy, and meats.
Child Abuse Awareness And Prevention Press Conference
April 27, 2021Yesterday morning, I attended a press conference that highlighted several legislative proposals which would prevent and end child sexual abuse.
I was joined by the Children's committee chairs, Representative Liz Linehan and Senator Saud Anwar, a bipartisan coalition of representatives, and leaders from nonprofits who dedicated ending child sexual misconduct through proactive policies.
The proposed legislation, which is detailed below, will ensure that every child in Connecticut is protected. They will also help us better understand the prevalence of child sexual misconduct in the state, and what we can do to eliminate it in the future.
