I think the decisions coming out of the Supreme Court over the past week are stark evidence of the ebbs and flows of our freedoms in this country and that nothing is cast in stone.

Last year, our state strengthened its “Red Flag” law to protect and save lives of Connecticut residents, and avoid tragedies before they happen. It is estimated that the state's red flag law has prevented 227 suicides since its adoption. Key provisions of this law took effect on June 1, 2022.
