Child & Family Nutrition Bill Clears House Unanimously

This comprehensive legislation ensures mothers and children who are eligible for federal benefits, such as WIC, are enrolled in these programs with ease and confidence. This bill aims to reduce barriers to participation in WIC.
Helping Support Our Disabled Veterans
April 30, 2024Veterans put their lives on the line for our country and, as a small way to say “thank you for your service,” the House of Representatives unanimously passed a bill that would support Veterans who have been disabled during service. As a Navy veteran, this bill was incredibly important to me.

Paid Sick Leave Passes House
April 25, 2024No one should have to choose between missing an important family event, going in to work sick and exposing others or taking a mental health day when needed. It's why we passed House Bill 5005 to allow for the accrual of paid leave, up to 40 hours each year, for those working at least 120 days annually. Businesses that already offer paid time off are exempt.
H.B. 5308 Passes in the House
April 25, 2024During Tuesday's session, the House passed HB 5308 - AN ACT CONCERNING ABSENTEE VOTING FOR CERTAIN PATIENTS OF NURSING HOMES. This bill eases the path to voting for nursing home residents.
