Some great news out about bills that have been voted out of committee for the entire legislature's consideration. 

Committee work is wrapping up at the State Capitol.

I held another Facebook Live session this week to provide more updates at the state Capitol. 

On Monday, I was proud to vote for a bill allocating $40 million in funding to special education, giving immediate support to more than 140 school districts in our state and helping to provide the highest quality education for our students.

What a busy week! First, I invited Congressman John Larson to Newington on Thursday to update residents on what is going on at the federal level, particularly a month into the new administration.

On Tuesday, Rep. Kate Farrar and Sen. Matthew Lesser and I were joined by Newington High School students for Future Business Leaders of America for CT FBLA Day!

Unfortunately, like a lot of residents, I've been battling a cold for the past few weeks. The good news is I haven't missed any votes and I've been able to continue my work as your tireless advocate at the State Capitol.

I understand there is a lot of uncertainty, anxiety and concern over the recent attempt by the federal government to pause federal grants and loans programs. What I can say for sure is my colleagues and I will continue to fight to improve the lives of the residents of Newington, New Britain and the state.
