Today our Meriden-Wallingford legislative delegation welcomed The Arc of Meriden Wallingford to the House Chamber to celebrate their 65^th Anniversary.

We have been making steady progress in dealing with Connecticut’s opioid crisis, but we still have a long way to go. Legislation we passed today that I championed is another step in the right direction.

The Maloney High School Drama club, Props and Paints celebrated their 100^th Anniversary. I joined them at their Peter Pan spring musical and presented them with a state citation.

Standing with my colleagues on Women’s Day, celebrating our accomplishments and what's yet to come. I am proud that so many strong women like me are getting together around the world, working firmer towards equality and the protection of our basic rights.

I had the great honor to join with colleagues in welcoming and recognizing Chrysalis Center in the House Chamber.

My Meriden colleagues and I held a Meet & Greet Town Hall meeting at Meriden’s Public Library to hear from our constituents on what is important to them and consider their thoughts and ideas as we serve them in the General Assembly.

I was inspired by the thousands of people who came out to the women’s march this weekend in Hartford! However, our work is just beginning. I will be sure to update you when public hearings on important legislation are held at the State Capitol.

Rep. Hilda Santiago, who began serving her third legislative term, has been promoted to Deputy Majority Leader for the 2017 Legislative Session.
