Last week my colleagues and I remembered the 161 Connecticut residents who died in the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks. We also honored the victims families and the first responders who answered the call and paid with their health and, in many cases, their lives.

Having just celebrated the holiday, I wanted to share our Labor Day statement from the Democratic members of the Labor and Public Employees Committee:

I wish all our Weston, Redding and Easton students, teachers, faculty, staff, and parents an enthusiastic welcome back to school!

I hope everyone is inspired and energized as the new school year begins in all three towns. 

The events of the past week have me asking the same two questions:

Who are we?
Who do we want to be?

Connecticut’s Extreme Hot Weather Protocol is in effect at least through 8 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 14. July 18. Please take all necessary precautions and check in on neighbors who may need assistance.

On Monday, we gathered at the Capitol to hold a press conference on the illegal executive order from President Trump further criminalizing the homeless.

It's important to not let the state of affairs at the federal level overshadow the amazing things that are taking place in Connecticut right now.

I am proud to share that for the 2025 legislative session, I received a 100% voting record from the Connecticut League of Conservation Voters in its 2025 Environmental Scorecard.
