Laws Effective October 1
September 27, 2023October 1 is a traditional date for new laws to go into effect. 2023 was such an exemplary session for you and our neighbors. So I thought I’d report on the dozens of new laws.
Two of them deal with protecting you from gun violence (Public Act 23-53 and PA 23-203). Gun responsibility has been my top priority for decades. I’m sending you a special report to you about this year’s progress.
Lowering Your Prescription Drug Costs
September 15, 2023Connecticut is about to take a transformative step toward making prescription drugs more affordable for all.
On Oct. 2, all Connecticut residents will be eligible to sign up for ArrayRx, a prescription drug discount card program that provides up to 80% off certain prescriptions at nearly all pharmacies in the state.
Operation Fuel Application is Now Open

Protections for the Elderly
August 7, 2023During session, we successfully passed legislation that protects and supports individuals in the state who are in the twilight years of their life. Unfortunately, as the elderly population steadily rises, scam attempts against that community also increases. To help shield our older residents from being victimized, we passed PA 23-161, AN ACT CONCERNING FINANCIAL EXPLOITATION OF SENIOR CITIZENS, a bill I was proud to cosponsor.

Approximately 66,000 workers in Connecticut – including 2,043 in Danbury – in Connecticut have received over $375 million in benefits when they were unable to work due to qualifying health or family reasons.
