Overwhelmingly approved bipartisan budget commits to significant structural reforms
October 27, 2017Following months of negotiations, the Legislature overwhelmingly approved a bipartisan spending package that ends our state's budget stalemate. This $41.3 billion two-year plan, which now heads to the governor's desk for approval, will help close a projected $3.5 billion deficit over the next biennium by committing to significant structural reforms.

While not perfect, it was a much-needed compromise that will allow use to move the state forward and end the stalemate that has held the state's finances hostage.
