April 5, 2024This week the State Librarian, Deborah Schander, visited Southington and we had the opportunity to tour the library building project that is currently underway, meet with architects and the construction crew, and receive an update on their progress, including the addition and upgrades to the "exterior look" being funded by the $5 million in state bonding that the town received last year.

March 28, 2024Earlier this month, the Southington-Cheshire Community YMCA was notified that the U.S. Senate passed a bill for 2024 that included $520,000 in Congressionally Directed Spending for improvements at YMCA Camp Sloper.

March 22, 2024Connecticut Ag Day at the State Capitol was a delight this week, especially because it offered some time for a visit with Southington’s Agriculture Science students and their teacher, Patrick O’Keefe. It was great to hear about their interests and the premier Ag Sci program that we proudly host at Southington High School.

March 15, 2024It was a highlight this week to welcome Southington High School students to the State Capitol, along with Superintendent Steven Madancy and Board of Education Chair Colleen Clark. During their “Day on the Hill” we talked about the students’ legislative priorities and toured the House Chamber.

Specifically, I attended due to concerns over proposals put forth this session that could be detrimental to the recruitment and retention of state and local officers, and the overall safety of Connecticut's residents.
