Bill To Protect Women Against Violence Passes in Committee
March 28, 2016HB 5623, a bill that protects victims of domestic violence by prohibiting possession of firearms by anyone who becomes subject to a temporary restraining order upon notice of being served, was approved in Judiciary Committee today.
The Push to Establish a Halfway House for Women in Greater New Haven
March 24, 2016Although bill HB 5204,which would have established a halfway house in New Haven for female ex-offenders, failed to move forward for consideration to the Judiciary Committee, I will continue to seek the facility's establishment to help those released from the Department of Corrections transition into the community.
