I am partnering with the Alliance for Bloomfield's Children to hold my 7th annual diaper drive. Diapers, wipes, and other donations will be accepted. Donations can be dropped off in box located in front of LOB Room 4100 by Friday, May 3rd.

During my time as a legislator, supporting veterans has been a priority of mine. My father is a veteran, and because of that, I have a respect and understanding of the sacrifice members of our armed services make to protect this country.

It is painful to say that in 2024, 22% of Black women receive lower quality of care than white women and are subject to discrimination in the healthcare field.

As utility service shutoffs for non-payment will start again on May 2, the state’s Consumer Counsel is warning residents about a possible scam targeting utility customers whose bills are overdue.

I had the honor of visiting the Duncaster Senior Living Center in Bloomfield. I shared some information about legislation we have passed that will help our aging population, including HB 5001.

Earlier this month, I joined Congressman John Larson, State Reps Garibay, Reyes and Napoli for a celebration of Leticia Colon de Mejias and her Windsor based organization Efficiency For All. EFA is a Connecticut nonprofit that was founded in 2017 by a concerned group of minority energy workers and community Environmental Justice advocates, who sought to address the lack of minority representation in the clean energy industry.

Begin your journey by picking up a library passport at one of 150 participating libraries. Make sure to get it stamped before visiting other libraries and doing the same there. Each participant will receive a small gift at each new library.

Last Tuesday, I had the pleasure of joining Congressman John Larson for an event at the Elmwood Senior Center. We had a wonderful discussion on social security and Medicare programs.
