Connecticut voters asked the legislature for more voting options through a constitutional amendment on early voting that they overwhelmingly approved, and we are answering the call.

We are more than halfway through the regular session, and this is the time of year when legislative activity picks up in the Connecticut General Assembly. After weeks of holding public hearings, the Finance, Revenue, and Bonding Committee and Appropriations Committee approved their budget proposals (Appropriations handles the spending side and Finance handles the revenue side).

I will be joining my colleague, Rep. Keith Denning and Senator Ceci Maher for a fun and interactive way to come together and create/balance a State Budget on Budget Game night - Thursday, May 4th from 6:00 PM – 7:00 PM at the Wilton Library (Brubeck Room).

I joined with several of my female colleagues in the Bipartisan Women's Caucus, to speak in support of some of our legislative priorities this session at a press conference in Hartford. 

On April 1, a number of resources that offered vital assistance to our most vulnerable community members came to an end or ended expanded eligibility.

I will be co-hosting a virtual forum with my colleagues, Keith Denning and Senator Ceci Maher to discuss "Everything Energy" with special guests Marissa Gillett, Chairwoman of Public Utilities Regulatory Authority (PURA) and Hank Webster, BETP Deputy Commissioner – Department of Energy & Environmental Protection (DEEP).

Personal care attendants (PCAs) will have additional access to affordable health insurance after an agreement was reached to expand the application deadline for PCAs to apply for the first round of the new premium assistance benefit.
