The House of Representatives passed HB 5507 in bipartisan vote on Tuesday providing greater insight and transparency into the Connecticut Siting Council (CSC) process. 

I'm proud to say we passed a bipartisan spending stabilization plan that will ensure our two-year state budget's historic tax cuts are protected, and we invest in the priorities that matter to you.

Since the COVID-19 pandemic began, street takeovers have become a national issue, including here in Connecticut. This cannot become the new normal. These takeovers by the illegal use of all-terrain and other types of vehicles, pose a significant threat to public safety, endangering participants, innocent bystanders, and law enforcement officials.

Today, the Judiciary Committee, which I proudly co-chair, has a public hearing and one of the bills up for discussion is HB 5507, which would amend a statutory provision relating to the rights of parties and intervenors in proceedings before the Connecticut Siting Council (CSC) relating to the construction of electric transmission lines.

I want to share with you an important update on the United Illuminating monopole transmission line project through parts of Fairfield and Bridgeport.
