We had another successful Latino Advocacy Day at the State Capitol – the sixth so far! My thanks to the Hispanic Federation, State and Federal Elected Officials and everyone that attended and had a hand in making this event so great. If you could not attend this year we look forward to seeing you next year!

Courthouse safety is paramount for those working at our courts and those receiving court services – I recently spoke to Judge Patrick L. Carroll in the Appropriations Committee on security at our Golden Hill Courthouse as I work to make progress on this important issue.

I am proud to have joined with the Bridgeport Delegation in support of a competitive process for any expansion of casino gaming in Connecticut.

As co-chair of the CT Census Committee, I am pleased that I will be playing a major role as there is nothing more important than an accurate census count for the equitable distribution of government resources.

The budget presentation is one of the most anticipated events at the State Capitol and Governor Lamont unveiled his Biennial Budget Address during the General Assembly Joint Session.

Last week, the state took its first step in potentially introducing a Paid Family Medical Leave program. House Bill 5003, An Act Implementing a Paid Family Medical Leave Program, came before the Labor and Public Employee Committee for a Public Hearing.

Rep. Rosario was appointed Co-Chair of the 2020 Census Committee.

It was great to join today with colleagues in the House and Senate to talk about our legislative priorities that include Paid Family and Medical Leave, Increasing the Minimum Wage, More Affordable Prescription Drugs, Job Training & Workforce Pipeline, A Green New Deal for Connecticut, Support for Small Businesses and Early Voting.
