The 2024 legislative session began on February 7. It will be a busy time of activity, as committees meet to contemplate bills, hold public hearings to get input from constituents like you, and ultimately bring certain legislation before the General Assembly.

Connecticut has launched its new jobs portal, jobs.ct.gov, which is aimed at assisting state residents — and those seeking to move here — in the process of finding a job.

Governor Lamont has announced that due to a weather forecast indicating that Connecticut will experience a period of extremely cold weather resulting in very low wind chill values over the next several days, he is directing the state’s severe cold weather protocol to go into effect Wednesday afternoon (1/17) and remaining in effect through noon on Monday (1/22).

As we ring in the new year, there are some laws that become effective on January 1 that were passed during the 2023 legislative session addressing key issue areas including early voting, health and mental health, and online privacy and data protection.
