Clip of the recent Appropriations Meeting in Hartford. I was able to ask questions of concerns in regards to Education funding and share an opinion on how we look at the issues & emergencies of our residents. How and if we're able to re-evaluate the guard rails and/or volatility cap in order to share more of our surplus to help with the priorities like housing issues, education, homelessness etc etc.

Connecticut's 29th Colored Regiment was the first all-black regiment in Connecticut and consisted of more than 900 enlisted men who volunteered to fight in the American Civil War.

Today we approved $17 million in additional cold weather heating assistance funds – many residents and families who receive assistance through the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) or Operation Fuel will have access to funds to ensure they can heat their homes through the cold weather season.

Wednesday marked the first day of the 2024 legislative session. This year is a short session that runs from early February to early May to do the people’s work. Looking forward to the work ahead this year. Greatly appreciate representing the State’s 39th District City of New London, Connecticut

This weekend I joined Engaging Heaven Church New London for the first service after the collapse of the church. They had a great spirit filled service thanks to the gratitude of the Garde Arts Center.

IMPORTANT OVERNIGHT SHELTER NEWS UPDATE IN NEW LONDON
Mayor Michael Passero For New London, working closely with Human Services Director Jeanne Milstein and our partners at the New London Homeless Hospitality Center, is pleased to announce they have located additional #overnightshelter space for those in need which will be under the direction, management, and supervision of the Homeless Hospitality Center.
