Any Connecticut resident who claimed at least one dependent child under the age of 18 on their 2021 federal income tax return may be eligible to receive a maximum payment of $250 per child (for up to three children).

After months of negotiation and hearing input from residents across our state, I am happy to pass along great news. The House and Senate passed a historic state budget adjustment package which provides $600 million in tax relief for working families.

Today, the House of Representatives, with leadership from State Representatives Liz Linehan (D-Cheshire, Southington, Wallingford), Tammy Exum (D-West Hartford, Avon, Farmington), Jonathan Steinberg (D-Westport), Tammy Nuccio (R-Ashford, Tolland, Willington), and William A. Petit Jr. (R-Plainville, New Britain) passed a bipartisan bill to address the immediate, intermediate, and long-term needs of the children's mental and behavioral health system in Connecticut.

We are currently facing a youth mental health crisis across our state and the country.
