I have some amazing news to share for the residents of Cheshire, Wallingford, Hamden, and beyond!

I have a very sweet constituent named Cole who lives with Angelman's Syndrome, and a few years ago his mother mentioned to me that the current adaptive field at Darcy School for the Cheshire Challengers was in disrepair. Since then, I've been quietly working with the Parks and Recreation Department to plan for a new field.

With the support of Cheshire Town Council Chair (and my good friend) Peter Talbot, today we secured $750,000 from the State Bonding Commission for a state-of-the-art Miracle Field at Bartlem Park!

We made it to the final day of session, and that means the final day of 7 Days, 7 Bills! It's been great to walk you through some of the great legislation passed this year, and I look forward to keeping you up to date on the work I do for our district.

The final bill I want to highlight is HB 5523, a bipartisan spending stabilization plan that will ensure our two-year state budget's historic tax cuts are protected, and we invest in the priorities that matter to you.

On the eve of our session's end, day six of 7 Days, 7 Bills, I want to highlight one of my most important bills passed through the House: HB 5262 - An Act Concerning Child Sexual Abuse. As many of you know, combatting child sex abuse is a top priority of mine, and it's important and necessary.

It's day five of 7 Days, 7 Bills, and today we're taking a look at HB 5001 - An Act Supporting Connecticut Seniors and the Improvement of Nursing and Home-Based Care.

As the elderly population steadily grows, there is an urgency to provide resources and assistance to this community. The House took a significant step to achieving that goal by passing HB 5001, a top priority for House Democrats this session.

For day four of 7 Days, 7 Bills, I want to tell you about HB 5002 - An Act Concerning Early Childcare and Education.

High-quality and affordable early childhood care and education contribute to a robust economy and help ensure the success of families and future generations.

Connecticut has one of the highest costs of childcare in the country. It's why we crafted and passed a bill in the House to make childcare and early childhood education more affordable and accessible.

For day three of 7 Days, 7 Bills, I want to highlight a bill I advocated passionately for this session: HB 5261: An Act Concerning the Consumption of Energy Drinks by Children.

Energy drinks are all the rage. From typical soft drink producers to YouTube Influencers, the manufacturing and sales of energy drinks have become big business… but they can also be quite dangerous!

Today's bill is HB 5172: An Act Concerning the Assessment of Motor Vehicles for Property Taxation. This bill corrects a 2022 law that makes important changes to your car taxes.
