The Children's Committee informational hearing date has been changed to October 11, 1 p.m., in Room 2E, of the Legislative Office Building.

A number of new laws are set to take effect on Sunday, October 1.

October 10, the Children's Committee will hold an informational meeting that will focus on the Bridge Family Center's STAR Home in Harwinton, after allegations of sex trafficking, violence, and abuse at the group home for children surfaced. The hearing will take place at the Legislative Office Building. Invitations will begin going out on September 25 to individuals requested to testify before the committee.

On September 14, State Rep. Liz Linehan and Lt. Governor Susan Bysiewicz toured Darter Specialties, Inc., in Cheshire and spoke to the importance of manufacturing.
