From now until December 15, small businesses in Connecticut can obtain group health insurance regardless of the number of employees who enroll thanks to Access Health CT's Employee Participation Waiver Period. Any local small business with 50 employees or less that is not currently enrolled through Access Health CT Small Business can participate.

This Saturday is Small Business Saturday, the shopping holiday that encourages consumers to support small businesses in our community.

The Connecticut Department of Transportation announced the permanent closures of both the Route 2 Eastbound Sutton Avenue Off-Ramp (Exit 5B) and Route 2 Westbound Cambridge Drive On-Ramp (Exit 5B). As part of the safety and operational improvements on Route 2, the permanent ramp closures are necessary.

I would like to share some excellent fiscal news regarding Connecticut’s rainy-day fund. Our state currently has $3.1 billion saved in this fund, making Connecticut a national leader in budget reserves! The Pew Charitable Trusts found that, in 2020, Connecticut’s reserves grew the second-fastest nationally, even in the midst of a global pandemic.
