I hope you're doing well. While our legislative work in Hartford was completed on May 8th, we will likely have a special session soon regarding car taxes. I still hope that we take up legislation focused on climate action that was not taken up in the Senate.

The 2024 legislative session has ended but we will continue to provide news and updates as it relates to the 41st district. This week's newsletter has both as well as a couple of important reminders from Eversource and the Department of Transportation.

We ended the 2024 legislative session, Sine Die, on Wednesday at Midnight. We had some legislative wins and losses, but we will continue to fight for what's right, including comprehensive climate legislation to protect our environment.

We're down to the final few days of session, so the focus on this week's newsletter, and probably the next two, will focus on bills we passed in 2024. The session ends on May 8th. We're down to the last few days of the 2024 session. We've got a lot done and have a lot more to do. I've included where we stand in terms of what we've passed to this point.

Climate action will be a focus for the next several days, and we'll be celebrating in our area with an event I will be taking part in, at the Groton Public Library on Saturday. There's a lot of good information in this week's newsletter.

The 2024 legislative session ends in less than a month and we have some work to do. Our focus will be trained on our priority bills, which include early childcare and education, furthering protections for our seniors, and the implementation of certain climate change measures.
