With fall comes cooler weather, changing leaves, and many new laws hitting the books. Several measures passed during the 2025 legislative session will take effect on Wednesday, October 1. Below is a brief overview of some of these important changes!

September 11, 2001, is one of those rare days when nearly every one of a certain age can remember exactly where they were as the terrorist attacks unfolded.

A reminder that I will be on the panel for this discussion during OleSkool weekend on Saturday, Aug. 30, at the Mattatuck Museum, 144 W. Main St., Waterbury, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

I write today to express my unequivocal support for State Rep. Corey Paris. Last week, Rep. Paris issued a simple message on social media: to remain vigilant in light of reports of ICE activity, and to look out for one another. His message was rooted in compassion and concern for his community.

It's that time of year when parents and children (not to mention our wonderful teachers and staff) are getting ready to go back to school!

Exciting news for Waterbury: the city will receive approximately $4 million from the state to support the replacement of the Brown Street Bridge over Great Brook. This is a major win for our community – improving infrastructure, enhancing public safety, and creating good-paying construction jobs.
