End of the Legislative Session
May 13, 2024On Wednesday, we officially concluded the 2024 legislative session. There were many long, stressful nights, but my colleagues and I were able to pass several pieces of legislation that will benefit our state in the present and in the future. I am immensely grateful for the opportunity to serve Norwalk at the Capitol and look forward to the next chapter ahead.
Governor Lamont Declares State of Emergency in Norwalk
May 2, 2024As a result of the structural damage to 1-95 caused by the motor vehicle accident, Governor Lamont has declared a state of emergency. The accident caused significant structural damage to I-95 near Exit 15 in Norwalk, particularly to an overpass that expands the width of the highway.
Supporting Our Seniors
April 29, 2024As the elderly population steadily grows, there is an urgency to provide resources and assistance to this community. During Monday's session, we took a significant step to achieving that goal by passing HB 5001, a top priority for House Democrats this session.
Welcoming the Connecticut Sun to the Capitol
April 28, 2024On Thursday, the Connecticut Sun visited the State Capitol. A few of my colleagues and I sat down with the team to discuss their youth civic engagement youth programming and basketball clinics that they have done and will do in cities around the state, such as Norwalk. It was a pleasure meeting everyone - best of luck on your upcoming season!
Celebrating Our National Champions
April 19, 2024This past week has been filled with celebrations of the UCONN men's basketball team. Last Saturday, I rode on the float with the team during the parade. During Wednesday's session, the team and staff visited the state Capitol. It was an honor to meet the players and coaches who worked diligently to secure a second straight championship. Go Huskies!
Groundbreaking for New School in South Norwalk
April 12, 2024Another week, another groundbreaking for a new school in Norwalk! Construction for an elementary school in South Norwalk officially kicked off earlier this week. Once completed, young students will no longer have to attend schools on the other side of the city - they will have a state of the art educational institution in right their neighborhood. I am thrilled that is project is underway and am eager to see the final result. Click here to read more.
A Commitment to Childcare Affordability
April 5, 2024Earlier this week, I had the honor to attend the official groundbreaking for the new Norwalk High School. This project has been many years in the making and it brings me joy to see it underway. Thank you to everyone who played a part in making this building a reality!
HB 5001 Passes Out of Committee
