I would like to thank the State Education Resource Center for honoring me with an award for my work on Public Act 19-12. Public Act 19-12 is the African American/Black & Puerto Rican/Latino History bill that I passed into law in 2019. This is one of the most impactful pieces of legislation that has ever been debated in the General Assembly and it was an honor to play a crucial role in its passage. I am very grateful to SERC for acknowledging my hard work.
