I joined with colleagues Senate Majority Leader Bob Duff, State Representatives Lucy Dathan, Chris Perone and Norwalk Federation of Teachers President Mary Yordon to highlight the full state funding for local Norwalk education in the Democratic state budget passed last week in the Appropriations Committee.

Connecticut is a leader when it comes to sensible gun safety laws.

The House of Representatives passed HB 7218 and HB 7219 today.

Protecting the residents of our state from discrimination in the health insurance market is one of my top priorities and I’m very happy to report that we are continuing to make progress on that issue this legislative session.

The House took action approving a resolution that would include a ballot question to amend the State Constitution to allow for an in-person early voting system. Once the resolution gets final legislative approval, the question will appear on the November 2020 ballot for voters to decide if Connecticut should implement it.

The House of Representatives passed three autism related bills during session on Wednesday. I could not think of a better time to discuss these bills than in April, which is Autism Awareness Month.
