Protections For The Elderly
August 4, 2023During session, we successfully passed legislation that protects and supports individuals in the state who are in the twilight years of their life. Unfortunately, as the elderly population steadily rises, scam attempts against that community also increases. To help shield our older residents from being victimized, we passed PA 23-161, AN ACT CONCERNING FINANCIAL EXPLOITATION OF SENIOR CITIZENS.
Legislative Update with First Selectman Harrington August 10
August 2, 2023On Thursday, August 10, I will host a legislative update event with Windsor Locks First Selectman Paul Harrington. The event will be held at the Windsor Locks Senior Center at 10:30 am. Standing up for CT Consumers by Freezing the Diesel Tax
July 14, 2023During the 2023 Legislative Session, I worked with my colleagues to pass a new two-year state budget that stands up for consumers, including a freeze of scheduled increases on the diesel tax, which helps lower the price of groceries and other commodities while reducing the cost of doing business in Connecticut.
New Laws Effective July 1st
June 27, 2023A number of new laws that my colleagues and I worked on during the 2023 legislative session to implement meaningful change in our state will take effect in Connecticut on July 1.

Windsor Public Schools Summer Food Program Now Open
June 23, 2023Free summer meals are now available for children and teens in Windsor. All individuals 18 years and younger are eligible to receive free lunch at Sharshon and John Fitch Park. No registration, ID or paperwork is required, but all food must be eaten at the meal site. One meal is allowed per child during each meal service. Free lunches will be provided Monday - Friday through August 18.
The Budget We Passed Promotes Fiscal Stability & Responsibility

Connecticut Receives Credit Rating Upgrade From Kroll
May 29, 2023Good news for Connecticut's growing economy!
Connecticut just received an upgraded credit rating from the Kroll Bond Rating Agency, which means that our General Obligation bond credit rating was upgraded from AA (stable) to AA+ (stable), just one step below the highest credit rating possible!
Witch Exoneration Bill Passes in Senate
May 26, 2023On Thursday, House Joint Resolution 34 passed out of the Senate. It was a momentous day for the descendants of those accused of and executed for Witchcraft in CT and their families. Thank you to my cosponsor Senator Saud Anwar and Senator Gary Winfield for bringing it to the Senate floor. The resolution has now passed both chambers!! Thank you to Tony and Judy Griego, Josh Hutchinson, Sarah Jack, Mary Louise Bingham, and Beth Caruso. This dynamic team has worked tirelessly for many years. And thank you to my colleagues in the House and the Senate for their overwhelming support!
