Dear Friends,

Happy Friday!

On Wednesday, it was an honor to be sworn in for the fourth time and be in the House Chamber for my seventh Opening Day. Then on Thursday, it was time again to get to work and convene the Banking Committee. I'm looking forward to a productive session.

Manchester Legislative Town Hall
As our session begins, I'd love to hear what's on your mind. I hope you'll join me Monday, Jan. 13 at the White Branch Library (100 North Main Street, Manchester) from 6-7:30pm for a legislative town hall with the Manchester delegation.

This event is a great opportunity for you to meet your legislators directly and discuss the issues that matter most to you and your community. These are the conversations that shape the work we do in Hartford, and I encourage you to join us for an informative and open discussion. I hope to see you there!

Resources for the Upcoming Session

It's easier than ever to follow along and get involved in our legislative session. There are several resources you can utilize that will help you stay updated on our work as it unfolds in Hartford.

Here's how you can stay connected and actively participate:

  • The Office of Legislative Research (OLR) provides nonpartisan and unbiased research to members of the General Assembly and their staff. Part of their duties include writing bill analyses, which are summaries of bills in plain language. Click here to check out their website.
  • In addition, OLR recently published the 2025 Major Issues report, which summarizes key issues the legislature could take up during session.
  • You can view the Connecticut General Assembly's upcoming events by checking out its schedule on the CGA official website
  • Follow CT-N for live coverage of committee meetings, as well as House and Senate floor debates.
  • You can register to monitor any bill's journey as it goes through the legislative process. By signing up, you can enter the bill number and receive real-time updates. Stay informed with email notifications whenever there's a change in the bill's progress.
  • Visit this website for information on how to testify on a bill at a public hearing.

Together, we can ensure all voices are heard.

As always, please feel free to email me at Jason.Doucette@cga.ct.gov or call my office at 860-240-8584.
Sincerely,

Jason Doucette
