Dear Friends,

Please join me and the entire Manchester Delegation in the Connecticut General Assembly for a Legislative Town Hall on Tuesday from 6-7:30 p.m. at Whiton Branch Library.

We are looking forward to the conversation with you!

The Office of Legislative Research (OLR), with the assistance of the Office of Fiscal Analysis (OFA), briefly describes the most significant, far-reaching, and publicly debated acts we adopted during the 2024 Legislative Session. Click here or on the graphic below for the 2024 OLR Major Public Acts report if you want to read it before the event.
Also, on Friday, I welcomed the approval of millions of dollars in funding for Manchester and Glastonbury by the State Bond Commission.

Manchester's funding includes final approval of $3.5 million from the Community Investment Fund 2030 to supplement building a modern and accessible downtown library. As part of the “Downtown for All” project, the library was supported by residents, who overwhelmingly voted in favor of a new facility in a 2022 referendum. Additionally, $125,516 for Odyssey Community School for debt repayment was also approved.

I'm thrilled that Governor Lamont, and the State Bond Commission approved this additional funding for the library. I was proud to work with many of my fellow Manchester residents to support the library referendum back in 2022, which passed with resounding support from the voters and sent a clear message that this project was a community priority. Combined with an earlier round of funding, this marks a total of $11 million of state investment for the library project and related Main Street improvements. This is exactly the type of investment in Manchester needs.

Glastonbury’s Addison Park will get $325,000 to help renovate its pool by replacing the plaster and tiles on its surfaces as well as making improvements to critical components like its water filtration system. The funds will also help the town refurbish the basketball and tennis courts.

Addison Park is already an absolute gem in our community and this funding will help to keep it shining.
