Dear Neighbor,
Last weekend, I was thrilled to be chosen as President-Elect for the National Hispanic Caucus of State Legislators. Being elevated to this role is a tremendous honor, and this responsibility is one I will faithfully execute every day.
As President-Elect, I will support newly elected President Angela Romero of Utah and advocate for initiatives across the country.
Throughout my entire career as State Representative for the 95th District, I've passionately advocated and fought for Hispanic communities in our district, our state, and even the country.

In 2011, I helped pass legislation in Connecticut that allows students without legal documentation to pursue their educational dreams.

In 2013, I was elected Chair of the Black and Puerto Rican Caucus, and drove efforts to pass legislation allowing undocumented immigrants to apply for driver's licenses in Connecticut.

I've also worked tirelessly to empower youth and Latinos statewide to get involved in the democratic process through voter registration drives and education, while leading a network of young people with ambitious professional and social aspirations.

I see my election to this role as the next chapter of my goal of elevating Latinos and strengthening the support in my community, and I cannot wait to begin my time on this leadership team.

Thank you so much for your continued support, and if you ever need anything, please always feel free to reach out to me or my office.

Sincerely,

Juan Candelaria
State Representative
