Dear Neighbor,

Honoring the strength of survivors, supporting those currently fighting, and remembering those we’ve lost. As your representative, I’m committed to advocating for access to early detection, treatment, research funding, and community support for those fighting breast cancer.

As Breast Cancer Awareness Month begins, I’m thinking of all the families in our community who have been affected by this disease.

The state is gearing up for early in-person voting, which is taking place from Monday, October 21 through Sunday, November 3. It's the first time this option is available for a general election in Hartford and West Hartford.

Any registered voter may cast their ballot during the early voting period.

Click here to register now or ensure your registration is up to date

You may also vote on Election Day, which is Tuesday, November 5, at your polling station. If you are not sure whether you are registered to vote, please visit: https://portaldir.ct.gov/sots/LookUp.aspx.

Talk to your friends and family about registering to vote and ask them what their voting plan is for October and November. Discuss transportation, time off work, or any assistance they might need to cast a ballot. If you chat about those important items and remind them of the importance of their vote, they are more likely to take part in the upcoming election.

Manufacturing has long been the mainstay of Connecticut's economy, and we are committed to helping manufacturers thrive.

  • Connecticut Manufacturing Assistance Act - Provides low-interest loans for projects that have strong economic development potential. Funds can be used for machinery, construction, inventory, training, and more.
  • Manufacturing Innovation Fund - Provides financial support for job training and apprenticeships, education for small companies in new manufacturing technology and grants of up to $100,000 toward equipment purchases.
  • Manufacturing Strategic Plan - Includes programs to support small and medium manufacturers, such as the DECD Manufacturing Innovation Fund. This program offers matching grants of up to $100,000 to eligible manufacturers under 100 employees.
  • CONNEX Connecticut - An online platform that connects all U.S. manufacturers and suppliers with a single, accurate, and searchable supply-chain solution. It’s not just another platform: it’s a revolutionary new way for you to find, be found, connect, and contract directly with each other.

Learn more about these programs and many more resources through Connecticut’ Office of Manufacturing: https://manufacturing.ct.gov/connex?language=en_US

Sincerely,

Juan Candelaria
