Dear Neighbor,

As your state representative, I wanted to keep you updated on the latest happenings at the Capitol. The main focus during our session is passing legislation that will benefit residents across our state. To hear more about the work my colleagues and I are doing, please take a moment to watch the video below.
Update from State Representative Pat Boyd

Community Office Hours

Thank you to everyone who has attended Office Hours so far. Senator Jeff Gordon and I had another full house and great discussion in Ashford last week.

I'm looking forward to the following forum on Monday in Brooklyn with Senator Mae Flexer.  On the 21st, join us at the Brooklyn Cares Community Center from 5:30 to 7:00 pm. We look forward to connecting with community members and discussing priorities for this legislative session. We encourage all members of the community to attend these events!

Eastford Grant

I am pleased to report that the Town of Eastford has been awarded an $8,000 Neglected Cemeteries Grant from the Office of Governor Ned Lamont.

These grants can be used by the municipalities to support basic cemetery maintenance, including clearing weeds, briars, and bushes; mowing grounds; repairing fences or walls and straightening, repairing, and restoring memorial stones.

Brooklyn Public Schools Grant

I am pleased to report that Brooklyn Public Schools has been awarded a $26,800 Agricultural Enhancement Grant by the Connecticut Department of Agriculture.

The Town of Brooklyn will use funds to install electric, plumbing, and climate-controlled connections in the Brooklyn Public School greenhouse, which will enable the students to cultivate their agricultural skills year-round.

The Agricultural Enhancement Grant is authorized and funded through the State of Connecticut Public Act 05-228, An Act Concerning Farmland Preservation, Affordable Housing, and Historic Preservation.

Northeastern Connecticut Chamber of Commerce Legislative Breakfast

Last week, I joined Senator Heather Somers at EASTCONN in Hampton for the annual Northeastern Connecticut Chamber of Commerce Legislative Forum. We spoke with over 100 local business leaders about the 2025 Legislative Session and shared our views on various topics being debated. Each year, I look forward to hearing the concerns and thoughts of the Northeastern Connecticut business community at this event. Thank you to everyone who attended.
