Property Tax Exemption for Veterans

I am pleased to announce that Public Act 24-46, has been signed into law, effective October 1, 2024. The bill passed unanimously in both chambers of the General Assembly. This new legislation provides a property tax exemption for veterans with a service-connected permanent and total disability rating as determined by the United States Department of Veterans Affairs.

House Approves Paid Time Off

Paid time off was expanded in the House. House Bill 5005 allows for the accrual of paid leave, up to 40 hours each year, for those working at least 120 days annually. Businesses that already offer paid time off are exempt.
