Tomorrow, October 29 is the Drug Enforcement Administration’s (DEA) 22nd National Take Back, a nationwide effort to reduce opioid overdose deaths by encouraging residents to turn in expired, unwanted, and unused prescription drugs. Studies have shown that most abused prescription drugs are obtained from friends and family – primarily from home medicine cabinets.

Tomorrow marks the conclusion of National Teen Driver Safety Week - an annual campaign to empower parents, guardians, and caregivers to discuss the importance of driving safely with their teen drivers.

Did you know that this week marked 100 years of "Fire Prevention Week"? Over the past week, the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), and local Fire Departments (including our own!) have been working to promote this year's campaign, "Fire won't wait. Plan your escape."

A reminder that state and local offices will be closed in observance of Indigenous People's Day on Monday, October 10, and reopen for regularly scheduled hours of operation on Tuesday, October 11.
