I support a measure that would restore voting rights of convicted felons on parole, as long as they have not been convicted of an election related felony House Bill 5418. Unfortunately, this bill didn’t come up for a vote, but I wanted to share my remarks on the House floor.

I am pleased to see SB 455, An Act Concerning Minority Teacher Recruitment and Retention moving forward. I didn’t have the opportunity to have too many teachers of color throughout my educational experience.

I am honored to have been able to cast my vote in support of my friend, Eric D. Coleman to be a Judge of the Superior Court. His well-deserved confirmation comes after a successful career serving the people of our state in the General Assembly since 1983, concluding his legislative service in 2017 when he retired from the Senate. Through his work as an attorney of law, Mr. Coleman served with distinction and honor, and his impressive accomplishments in the General Assembly are a testament to his commitment and desire to serve.

April 26 was Hartford Day at the State Capitol. A day of food and fun that highlights the people, places and businesses that make Hartford special.

State Representative Joshua Hall hailed passage of a measure he championed, House Bill 5265, that would require public and private contractors to get paid within 25 days instead of the 30 days under existing law.

The state House of Representatives took a step on April 19 toward closing the gender wage gap and ensuring women earn equal pay for equal work by passing House Bill 5386.

When you or a loved one is ill or injured you should have access to a doctor, medication and treatment. Politicians in Washington are trying to trample on your health care rights and that’s why I’m supporting legislation to secure health benefits for Connecticut residents.
