Connecticut is one of only two states in the Northeast that does not use tolls to fund critical transportation infrastructure repairs and improvements, and our state’s highways are in dire need of work.

It was a pleasure to participate with my Black and Puerto Rican Caucus colleagues, advocates and constituents at our public forum in the Legislative Office Building, to discuss policy concerns and ideas that will help us draft our legislative priorities. We are committed to addressing the issues that impact our specific communities this session, and the public's input is the first step. I wish to thank our Chair, Rep. Christopher Rosario and vice chair, Rep. Brandon McGee for their leadership and everyone that joined us!

In a bipartisan vote, the House of Representatives today voted to restore $54 million in funding to the Medicare Savings Program (MSP). More than 113,000 seniors and disabled individuals depend on the state program to purchase their Medicare Part B benefits.
