Connecticut's 2022 Sales Tax Free Week is August 21 through August 27. This is a great opportunity to take the kids back-to-school shopping or to treat yourself or your loved ones while saving.

While work at the federal level to step up the fight against climate change has been slow at best, here at the state level, House Democrats supported policies during the 2022 legislative session that will help cut our carbon footprint, promote environmental justice, and protect the health of Connecticut residents.

State-wide primary elections for both Democrats and Republicans will be held August 9th. Absentee ballots are already available. You can get an application for an absentee ballot at your city or town hall in the town clerk's office or from the Secretary of the State's website Absentee Voting (ct.gov) and follow the instructions.

The summer's first heat wave is here. The next several days are set to see temperatures in Connecticut reach more than 90 degrees with a heat index of triple digits at times, which has prompted activation of the state’s extreme hot weather protocol starting today and effective through 8 p.m. on Sunday, July 24.

Due to low rates of rainfall and unusually high temperatures this season, Connecticut's Interagency Drought Working Group has declared all eight Connecticut counties are experiencing Stage 2 Drought conditions.

Access Health CT (AHCT) announced that they expanded eligibility requirements for the Covered Connecticut Program and additional benefits for those that qualify. The program, which was launched last July, provides health insurance at no cost to parents and caretaker relatives who meet all eligibility requirements.
