The CT Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society recognizes Rep. Butler with its 2015 Connecticut Legislative Champions award. Butler, as House chairman of the Housing Committee, has a deep commitment to accessibility for all citizens.

CT's Teacher of the Year Jahana Hayes. She hopes to inspire her students to want to learn and become good citizens who will make their communities a better place. Ms. Hayes teaches at John F. Kennedy High School in Waterbury.

I was recently among those honored by the NAACP as the 100 most influential black leaders in the state. The ceremony was part of the state chapter of the NAACP's 50th annual State Convention at the Hilton Hotel in Stamford.
