This week I welcomed to the Legislative Office Building students from the East Rock Record, a team of middle school students who work with high school and college student mentors to write and host press conferences on pressing issues in their communities.

What a great story. Manchester groups and the board of education working together to provide new skills and job opportunities for high school students while addressing the lack of diversity among emergency responders. We need more of this. -- Jason
