The East Hartford CONNects/ Resident Advisory Council in partnership with the YWCA New Britain, Sexual Assault Crisis Service, will be hosting a Social Media Informational Session, on Monday May 16th at 6:30pm via Zoom.

Every student in our state should have access to an education filled with opportunity that sets them up for success. The best investment we can make in our future is giving our schools the tools and resources they need today to help our students succeed tomorrow – and our state budget doubles down on the investment.

The East Hartford Senior Services invites all East Hartford Veterans to a Memorial Day Picnic. The event will be held on May 25th from noon to 2 PM at the East Hartford Senior Center, located at 15 Milbrook Dr. Lunch will be served at noon. We will be having hamburgers, hotdogs, macaroni salad, baked beans and cookies for dessert.

Today, the House of Representatives overwhelmingly passed SB 350, recognizing Juneteenth as a state holiday. 

After months of negotiation and hearing input from residents across our state, I am happy to pass along great news. I am poised to vote early next week on a state budget which provides historic tax relief for parents, retirees, workers, and property owners.

I want to cut your taxes. That is my main goal this year.

We’re cutting taxes! Our 2022 State Budget proposal reflects our commitment supporting CT residents, especially in light of inflation and surging gas prices, by creating bigger tax breaks for homeowners and retirees, providing more tax relief for student loan debt, and by providing direct relief to residents most impacted by the car tax.

We often don't think about food insecurity impacting our college students, but the truth is that many students face challenges in providing nutritional, affordable meals for themselves. Remote learning during the pandemic presented additional challenges.
