State Rep. Mike D'Agostino, D-Hamden, led passage of House Bill 6123, which would provide more oversight over the tree removal work being completed by the state Department of Transportation on Connecticut's highways.

On May 10, a bill I sponsored that would strengthen oversight of tree work by utilities passed in the state House of Representatives in a 144-1 vote. The bill now heads to the Senate for approval.

Following the U.S. House of Representatives' narrow approval of President Donald J. Trump's health care proposal, I am fighting to ensure that if the Affordable Care Act is repealed, Connecticut residents -- who would otherwise lose coverage -- will be able to maintain their insurance.
