Black & PR Caucus Holds Public Forum

Chairman Rep. Christopher Rosario (D-Bridgeport) and Vice Chairman Rep. Brandon McGee (D-Hartford) of the legislature’s Black and Latino Caucus announced a public forum will take place Tuesday, January 31 at the Legislative Office Building.

The group is seeking input from lawmakers, advocates and the public as it relates to their concerns and ideas about pressing policy issues concerning the black and Latino communities.

Governor, Legislators Stand Together on Immigration Policy

Connecticut officials are reacting to President Trump’s two Executive Orders on immigration. The president Wednesday signed an order to build a wall on the border with Mexico under the guise of security. The other executive order calls for stepping up deportations and immigration enforcement. The legislature's Black and Puerto Rican Caucus issued a statement against those presidential executive orders.

Rosario Supports Gaming Bill

State Representative Christopher Rosario (Bridgeport D-128) has filed legislation to allow new commercial gaming facilities to be developed in the state, establish a competitive process for licensing, and impose a tax of twenty-five percent of the annual gross revenue generated at such facilities from slots and table games.
