Time is running out as Access Health CT deadlines approach for residents that lost health insurance due to job loss. People can enroll any time within 60 days of losing their job, but the deadline to enroll is approaching fast for those who lost their health insurance in early April.

The state has established new enforcement protocols to ensure businesses follow the Sector Rules for May 20th Reopen intended to help mitigate the spread of COVID-19. Local health officials, local law enforcement, and municipalities will be able to enforce the sector rules by inspecting businesses for compliance with public health and the reopen sector rules.

On Thursday, May 21 from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m., Masks for CT in collaboration with the Jewish Federation of Greater New Haven will distribute masks at Yale West Campus, 100 West Campus Drive, in Orange, to members of the general public for personal use.

Connecticut businesses eligible to open on or soon after May 20 are required to self-certify to demonstrate they understand and will comply with COVID-19 rules and regulations set by the state. The process is quick and available online at business.ct.gov/recovery.

Today the Office of Early Childhood announced it launched CTCARES for Family Child Care to help licensed family child care providers during the COVID-19 public health emergency. This program connects licensed family child care providers with a Family Child Care Network to provide grant funding and other supports to help small, home-based providers keep their business running during this challenging time.

As a result of social distancing measures put into place and the continual decline in hospitalizations, Governor Lamont announced the state will begin a cautious, phased-in re-opening that is currently targeted for May 20th.
